New Digital Multispeed Method for Indirect Measurement of Transient Electrical and Shaft Torques
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents characteristics and solutions to some practical problems concerning the new digital Generalized Indirect Multispeed Method (GIMSM), for measurement of transient electrical and shaft torques occurring in a complex serial multimachine AC drive system. The method indirectly includes torsion and internal machine and shaft damping. It is based on the measurement of the transient speeds, using high resolution digital tachometers, of every lumped inertia component. Obtaining the torque values requires digital filtering, followed by numerical differentiation and integration. This procedure depends on the type of the transients and the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the drive. The measurement of transient torques using the proposed method is realized in the laboratory on a two-machine induction motor (IM) drive. The results of the measurements of the electrical and shaft torques during the acceleration and speed reversal are presented in this article. The article further recommends the choice of optimum sampling rate and the algorithm for digital filter selection based on time–frequency analysis.

Strain gage mounted on the surface of the shafts with specified directions are one of the common methods for measurement of the torsion in shafts. The most critical problem in utilization of this method, particularly in the online monitoring of torsional vibration and instantaneous torque in rotary systems, is due to its signal transfer process. In this paper, a simple, practical and feasible m...
متن کاملMOCA ARM: Analog Reliability Measurement based on Monte Carlo Analysis
Due to the expected increase of defects in circuits based on deep submicron technologies, reliability has become an important design criterion. Although different approaches have been developed to estimate reliability in digital circuits and some measuring concepts have been separately presented to reveal the quality of analog circuit reliability in the literature, there is a gap to estimate re...

This paper focuses on the turbine-generator shaft models of double-cage Induction Generator (IG) based wind farm and its influence on the sub-synchronous resonance phenomenon. For this purpose, six different shaft models as 6-mass, 4-mass, 3-mass I, 3-mass II, 2-mass and 1-mass models are considered for double-cage IG wind-turbine. By using the linear modal analysis method, the effects of the d...

Distributed generation (DG) will play an important role in future power generation systems, especially in stand-alone applications. Three phase four-leg inverter is a well-known topology which can be used as an interface power converter for DGs. Thanks to the fourth leg to provide the neutral path, the four-leg inverter is able to supply balanced loads as well as unbalanced loads. In this paper...
